The Canon A3100 is one of the first digital cameras in the budget compact A-series to be powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. All other A-series cameras use AA batteries. The A3100 replaces the A2100 with the same 12.1 megapixel resolution, but a smaller 4x lens and 2.7-inch LCD screen.
