But at 4.8 oz. you could carry 6 of the iPhones, and still be running lighter than a 5D MII without a lens or battery. This isn’t the real advantage of the iPhone, though… that comes with the ability to take photos and videos and push them right up to a website or email.
Now wait, stop laughing. Alex Majoli, shooter for Magnum, and on assignment for Newsweek won some pretty impressive awards for his work with point-and-shoot cameras ‘way back in 2003. U.S. National Press Photographers Association's Best of Photojournalism Magazine Photographer of the Year Award and the U.S. Overseas Press Club's Feature Photography Awards, to be specific. In the full story, Majoli says “…I was interested in finding a camera that gives me some new way to approach the subject, This camera, you can shoot in a different way."
Clearly different.
