H2H ROUND-2: Field Test: Night Scenes

H2H USER SCORE
View Official Scorecard

With the G9 set at ISO 100, it looks like the lights in the buildings are floating in air. At ISO 200 and 400, you can see the outline of the gray buildings along with the lights and speckled noise. At ISO 1600, the G9 is unusable. The XSi, however, shows that it has better dynamic range by showing the lights and the outlines in lower ISOs. The noise in the XSi’s images gets worse as the ISO is increased, but images are far, far better than the G9’s at ISO 1600.

The next sequence of images shows how the cameras employ their noise reduction systems.
