Every once in a while, I come across a photographer who's simple joy in takiing pictures comes through in the work.  Paris Visone, once a student of mine from AIB is like that, she sports a camera grafted to her hand... photography is so much a part of her life and identity, her photography reflects a pure, honest reality that you seldom feel.   Alex Morrow is another.  Alex is a student, her comments are below, but she started her "365 Photos" project- self-assigning a photo a day, because she loves photography and loves the process of taking photographs, and wanted to build it into her daily life.

Her work is clearly a process of exploration, complete with the requisite photos of her dog...  which we love.  Some of her work, though, is a subtle pointer towards an emerging style.    We can only wait and watch, to see where her enthusiasim and passion leads her.  Take a look at her site here, on Tumblr

Her comments, here:

"I own a Nikon D60 and use the following lenses: AF NIKKOR 70-300mm, AF-S NIKKOR 55-200, AF-S NIKKOR 18-55mm. When I'm home I use my parents Nikon D90 with an AF-S NIKKOR 18-105 lens. Eventually I'll upgrade. Hopefully soon.

I got into photography in 8th grade. There's just something about the way you can capture a moment and a feeling that I love.

My 365 blog was a sort of New Years Resolution to appreciate each day of the year. I plan on gathering all the pictures in a book when I'm done.

My absolute favorite photographer is Amy Vitale.
She is an outstanding photojournalist and has my dream job. Plus, she uses Nikon!"
