Canon issued a firmware update for its 18-megapixel EOS 7D. The freshest firmware improves the performance of the autofocus during live view shooting and corrects a few other rare problems.

Version 1.0.9 mainly updates the live view autofocus. The Canon EOS 7D has a 19-point all-cross-type autofocus system along with face detection.

A few Canon 7Ds have had occasional problems displaying odd colors in the movie mode and releasing the shutter when a flash was used. The new firmware update fixes these troubles.

The Canon EOS 7D was released last month at a price of $1,699. The DSLR boasts an 8 fps burst mode and 1080p HD movies that can be manually adjusted. For the new firmware update, click here.
