Although the Casio Exilim EX-Z29 is technically in the “Zoom Series,” the recently announced digital camera doesn’t have much zoom to brag about. Its 3x optical zoom lens is standard fare on compact cameras. The $139 price tag, however, will make the Z29 a good option for budget consumers when it comes out in April.
The Casio Z29 is similar to its Card-series kin; it measures 3.6 x 2.1 x 0.9 inches and weighs only 4.4 oz. It also comes in a variety of colors: black, pink, blue, silver, and purple. The 10-megapixel camera comes with a standard set of specs: 3x lens, 2.7-inch LCD screen, and face detection technology. It also comes with 23 Best Shot modes and advertises ‘ease of use’ as one of its best assets.
“Casio is dedicated to creating digital cameras that feature superior technology while maintaining an ease of use for the consumer,” said Bill Heuer, Casio’s vice president of sales for the digital imaging division, in the March 3 press release.
