In the pre-Photokina buzz, Panasonic has unveiled a prototype for a micro 4/3 camera that features HD video capability.
Panasonic is referring to this entire system as “the Micro G System,” of which the new camera is only a part. The HD video capability includes a stereo microphone and a movie record button. Photos can be seen here.
The Micro G camera follows Panasonic’s DMC-G1, announced on September 12th, 2008. The DMC-G1 is fitted with a 4/3 lens mount and 12.1-megapixel MOS sensor, but it does not have the same HD video features.
